A traditional brewery
Under the Wadden sky, amid the vast green meadows on the edge of ‘De Hoge Berg’ nature reserve, stands the former Oudeschild dairy factory. Where cheese was once made, copper brewing kettles now shine. The heart of a brewery, where the unique Texel beer originated.
Our brewing process
Since 1999 Texels has been brewing awardwinning specialtybeers. For the brewing of these beers, we work together with local farmers on the island. Would you like to know what steps we take, from buying the raw materials to brewing our traditional beers?
Special beers
The Texelse Bierbrouwerij brews 12 unique speciality beers on Texel using only natural ingredients, including barley from Texel itself. This makes all the speciality beers a pure Texel product. Beers with a special story and a distinctive taste. With the most famous award-winning beer: the Texels Skuumkoppe.

Op z’n Texels
Als trotse eilandbewoners doen we dingen graag op onze eigen manier. Niet omdat het moet, maar we staan gewoon niet altijd stil bij wat er aan ‘de overkant’ speelt. De Texelse Bierbrouwerij is, net als de Texelaars zelf, van nature eigenzinnig, maar zeker ook toegankelijk. Iedereen is welkom bij ons op de brouwerij waar wij met trots ons prachtige product laten zien. Ondanks onze grote groei blijft de Texelse Bierbrouwerij, en ons geliefde Texels bier, vasthouden aan dat knusse gevoel van kleinschaligheid.
Hoewel ons bier inmiddels in heel Nederland geliefd is en een deel ervan aan 'de overkant' wordt gebrouwen en gedronken, blijft dat eigenzinnige, toegankelijke en kleinschalige karakter altijd behouden.

Interwoven with nature
Can you taste the salty Wadden air in a glass of beer? Texels beer is closely interlinked with the island’s unspoiled nature. That’s because of its unique climate: more hours of sunshine and less rain lets grain grow into distinctively thick kernels.
Award-winning beer
Where enthusiastic hobby brewers laid the foundation, a dedicated team now works under the leadership of a brewmaster. This has yielded a range of awards for Texel’s beer, most recently at the ‘Best Bock Beer of the Netherlands’ selection and the Dutch Beer Challenge. And also on the international stage of the World Beer Awards.
